The Little Nest Daycare & OSC

At The Little Nest Daycare & OSC, we offer a warm, inspiring, and developmentally rich environment where children from early years through school age can learn, grow, and thrive. Our program blends the guiding principles of Alberta’s Flight: Early Learning and Care Framework with the child-led, inquiry-based philosophy of Reggio Emilia.

Grounded in well-being, playfulness, participation, and communication, we honor each child as a capable learner with unique strengths, interests, and ways of expressing themselves. Through Alberta’s Flight framework, our educators observe and nurture children’s holistic development, celebrating their everyday moments of curiosity and discovery.

Inspired by Reggio Emilia, our spaces—both indoors and outdoors—are intentionally designed to act as a “third teacher.” Children engage in hands-on exploration, nature-based learning, creative expression, and collaborative projects that evolve from their own ideas and interests. Whether in our daycare or OSC program, children are encouraged to question, investigate, and share their thinking in meaningful ways.
